What gardener does not dream of a full and plentiful harvest of sweet juicy cucumbers while sowing seeds. However, in reality, it is not always possible to achieve good results. Often, summer residents are faced with a number of problems already at the beginning of growing this vegetable crop. Preliminary preparation of seeds gives the best shoots and protects the plant from many diseases. Regular care of young seedlings, adherence to the watering regime, timely subcrusting are the main activities that must be performed in order to harvest a healthy crop.
One of the most common troubles awaiting gardeners is that cucumber leaves often turn yellow during the cultivation process. How to deal with such a problem? What remedies can prevent yellowing of cucumber leaves in the future? Next, we will take a closer look at several preventive methods of processing cucumbers.
If the leaves of cucumbers turn yellow: how to deal with it
As soon as you notice that the leaves of cucumbers turn yellow, this is a clear sign that the plant is deficient in certain substances. In this case, you need to save young bushes very quickly. Having missed the moment, you can never wait for the appearance of juicy cucumbers in your garden. The problem of yellow leaves in cucumbers is solved by processing seedlings with both folk and "purchased" means. Often, the reason for the yellowing of the leaves is hidden in improper watering. Adult and young cucumber bushes are especially sensitive to the level of moisture in the root zone.
Watering
The culture needs moderate, regulated watering, otherwise the bushes will turn yellow at an accelerated rate. When watering is stabilized, there are effective ways to combat yellowing of the leaves. It is about the preparation of special solutions.
Method 1
When the cucumber sprouts give 3-4 true leaves, the seedlings are treated with a solution prepared on the basis of the following components. 30 drops of iodine, 20 g of shavings of laundry soap and 1 liter of milk are added to a bucket of water. Stir everything thoroughly. Spraying the bushes with a freshly prepared solution is done at intervals of ten days, which will protect them from yellowing in the future or stop the process at an early stage.
Method 2
A loaf of bread is soaked in a bucket of water. The bread will swell overnight. In the morning, when the pulp is properly dissolved, a small amount of iodine is added to the bucket of liquid. The resulting concentrate with a volume of 1 liter is diluted in a bucket of water. Cucumbers are sprayed with this solution. As a result, the green color of the cucumber tops will remain throughout the whole season. Processing is carried out no more than once every two weeks. The solution can be stored in bottles in a cool, dark place and used as needed.
Method 3
In a bucket of water, 2 liters of whey and 150 g of sugar are diluted. It is allowed to spray with this solution both healthy bushes and those that have already turned yellow, so that they do not lose the ability to bear fruit.
Method 4
It is based on the use of onion peel, which contains many useful substances. The husk is poured into a bucket and poured over with cold water. Then the mixture is brought to a boil and left to infuse for half a day, covering the bucket with a lid. When the broth is infused, it is filtered to remove the husk. The resulting solution is diluted with water at a ratio of 2: 8. The bushes are sprayed with the prepared infusion very carefully. The liquid should get to the inside and outside of the leaf blades, as well as to the area where the cucumbers are grown.
Method 5
The easiest way out of the above. You need to take 5 liters of water and 1 liter of milk whey. This solution is effective against yellowing of leaves in cucumbers.
