Hyacinth is a bulbous plant that enchants everyone with its beautiful flowering. The homeland of hyacinths is considered to be Africa, the Mediterranean, Holland. But today you can see such beauty in every home. This bulbous plant has become quite common. Hyacinth can be grown both in the room and in the front garden. Hyacinth is a plant of extraordinary beauty that begins to bloom in spring. The plant blooms for three weeks. But if you suddenly wanted to see the beautiful hyacinth bloom in winter, then this is possible. With great diligence, you can even drive out hyacinth by the New Year.
If you don't have hyacinth bulbs in stock, you can purchase them at a flower shop. But not in every store you can find a hyacinth bulb, you have to search a little. In order not to waste a lot of time, you can immediately go to the flower nursery, where you will surely get everything you need. Still, preparing the hyacinth for distillation yourself will be much better. On the packaging with hyacinth bulbs, the inscription "for distillation" must be imprinted. Hyacinth begins to bloom in a quarter of a year, after landing in the ground. In this case, it is important to observe all the necessary conditions for the growth of the plant. It will take about the same time for the forcing of hyacinths itself, take this into account right away.
Let's get down to the process itself. Hyacinth bulbs must be refrigerated for 2–4 months. With this procedure, you will provide the bulbs with a period of winter dormancy. After winter dormancy, you can start planting the plant. For planting hyacinth, garden or forest land is suitable. For planting, use ordinary flower pots, preferably large.
The bulbs should be placed at a short distance from each other, and they should not be in contact with each other. Hyacinth bulbs should not be buried deep in the ground, the top of the seedling should be on the surface. Before sprouting, the plant should be kept in a cool, dark room. At the initial stage of forcing, the temperature should not exceed 10 degrees above 0.
Do not forget about watering the land. Throughout the forcing phase, the soil must always be moist. After the sprout has appeared, the hyacinth must be taken out to a bright room, where the temperature will not exceed 16 degrees Celsius.
Temperature and light conditions must be observed in full. If the temperature exceeds the specified norms, the hyacinth will bloom earlier, but the flowering period can be reduced to several days. So, be careful not to overdo it with care, which can be detrimental. Coolness and light, moist earth is what is needed for forcing hyacinth.
Forcing the plant can be carried out under water conditions. To do this, you need to purchase flasks that are designed for forcing bulbous plants. This method of forcing does not differ from the usual one, where the forcing of hyacinth takes place in the ground.
Such a simple activity can ennoble your home, add more comfort and home warmth to it.
