A little about fertilizers and trace elements

Fertilizers and trace elements. Feeding plants and flowers. Complex fertilizer

It's no secret that indoor plants need not only love and care in terms of everyday life, but also special feeding, which consists in supplying them with nutritious minerals. What is it for? Of course, so that the flower does not experience a lack of minerals and vitamins. Since flowers are living, growing organisms, it means that caring for them should be almost like for small children. It is worth monitoring their condition, appearance and general well-being. Giving them care, the grower receives in return much more than he gives: beautiful greenery, vigorous flowering, aesthetically pleasing appearance and, of course, benefits as air filtration, besides, many "green favorites" have medicinal properties. With minimal care, the grower receives the maximum amount of benefit for himself, it remains only in the black.

We will not dispute the fact that the soil for indoor flowers contains the necessary mineral and nutrients, especially if the substrate for the plant was compiled as competently as possible. However, after a month or two, the earth is depleted, and the flower begins to experience an urgent need for nourishment. It should be borne in mind that a plant that needs nutrition will immediately let you know about it with its appearance: it will deteriorate greatly, but it is better not to bring it to this and provide vitamin assistance in a timely manner, since the flower itself will not be able to take care of itself in any way. Of course, in shops for flower growers, shelves are bursting with the amount and variety of fertilizers. Take and feed according to the instructions: do not exceed, do not forget, and everything will be fine. However, every amateur and even more so a professional should have at least an initial idea of what micronutrients are and what they are eaten with. This will save the health of the plant and the nerves of the grower.

So that the flower grows normally and does not need anything, does not get sick and regularly pleases with flowering, it is important that the following microelements are supplied to it: sulfur, iron, calcium, magnesium, which the earth is abundant in, and things are going with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium more difficult, they need to be added additionally. And as luck would have it, they are the foundation for the normal growth and development of the flower.

Complex fertilization in the garden and flower garden

Read more about each element in more detail. A real treasure and an essential element for root nutrition of a flower is nitrogen... It has a beneficial effect on growth and is vital for the flower at this stage. There is a danger of "overdose" with nitrogen, it can lead to excessive looseness of plant tissues, therefore, increases susceptibility to disease. With care, you need to feed flowering plants with nitrogen, since it emphasizes the development of foliage and stem, while inhibiting flowering.

And here phosphorus quite the opposite is a panacea for plants in bloom or about to bloom. At the same time, phosphorus has excellent digestibility. The disadvantage of phosphorus is that it slows down the growth of the flower and the flowering itself.

What is it for? potassium? Of course, to strengthen flower tissues, plus potassium makes the plant more resistant to disease, has a beneficial effect on photosynthesis. It is easy to notice the lack of potassium: the edges of the leaves, as it were, die off, taking the form of burnt.

Thus, when buying fertilizer in a store, you should pay attention to its composition.Having carefully studied it, and having estimated what "green favorites" and at what moment it may be needed, you can safely buy.

Fertilizers can be organic and mineral. This is not to say that one is bad and the other is good, both types are beneficial. But for the most part, the choice falls on natural organic fertilizer (manure, poultry droppings), because the attitude towards organic matter is much better. There is a recipe for organic fertilizer with poultry droppings: 1 tbsp. a spoonful of bird droppings is poured into a three-liter jar and infused for about ten days. After fermenting the infusion, it is diluted with water 1: 1. Further, if diluted 1: 2, this top dressing is great for daily watering.

How to choose and use fertilizers for flowers and plants

But this does not mean that you need to disdain mineral feeding.

In addition to those listed in the article, there are many trace elements that are useful and necessary for indoor plants, but they are used only when necessary and with great care.
