Wrinkled rose

Wrinkled rose. Planting and leaving. Transplant and reproduction. Rosa Rugosa

There are about 400 types of roses, and they are all beautiful in their own way. And if you breed them by selection, then you can get thousands of different types of roses. But in our country, such breeding species are mainly grown as a covering crop, or in greenhouses.

But there are types of roses that nature has awarded with very valuable qualities - frost resistance, healing and the ability to use petals in food. These qualities compare favorably with roses grown naturally from roses that have been created by selection.

We recommend that you plant a wrinkled rose, its semi-double shape in your garden. Why? It grows as a dense, sturdy bush, up to 1.5 meters in height, which does not require additional shelter in cold weather. It has wrinkled, dark green glossy leaves that turn a bright lemon yellow in autumn.

This type of rose begins to bloom from May and so on until autumn, and its petals can be excellent ingredients for making liqueurs, jams, rose water and oil. The rosebuds themselves are usually 8-12 cm in diameter, semi-double to the touch and have a strong, expressive aroma. Its colors are varied - pink, red, dark purple, and even white.

Every year it bears fruit about 4 cm in size, generously treating its owner with them. The fruits themselves have great healing properties, as they contain a lot of vitamins C, B1, P, as well as vitamins B2, B6, E and such a substance as carotene. Its fruits often become an ingredient in many vitamin supplements, which are then sold in pharmacies, and not cheap. You can get vitamins just by caring for a rose bush, absolutely free.

Planting a wrinkled rose and the necessary care

This plant is not too whimsical, loves moist soil and also loves light enough. It can grow without transplantation in one place from 25 years. For planting roses, they usually pre-harvest a hole for each bush separately, the dimensions of which are usually 50 cm in diameter and about 45 cm in depth. Before planting, the roots themselves are dipped in a clay mash, after which it is placed in a hole filled with humus in advance, in the amount of 1 bucket per hole. Then, immediately after planting, so that the soil does not dry out, it is watered with 10 liters of water, and then the ground around the bush is mulched. And finally, the seedling is shortened by one third of the height.

Planting a wrinkled rose and the necessary care

Caring for this plant involves feeding it in the spring with mullein (in a ratio of 1:10) or bird droppings (1:25), as well as combating weeds near the bush and loosening the soil.

To shape, the branches on the bush are cut by 1/3 so that they grow well and give a crop, but the old branches are removed. How to plant this kind of rose? A wrinkled rose looks good both alone and in a composition from several bushes at once. And with the help of the bushes of this rose, you can create a whole alley with arches of climbing roses. Therefore, it is worth thinking about planting such a rose on your site, because thanks to its ease of care, beauty and useful properties, it is more than worthy of this.
