Kosmeya has long been loved by many gardeners, and first of all, for its unpretentiousness. Whichever way you look at it, this is the perfect flower for those who do not have enough time to fully care for their plants. Kosmeya can grow in a sunny location, although many garden flowers are afraid of direct sunlight. The soil is suitable unenriched, otherwise the plant will grow strongly, mainly with foliage, and you can never wait for flowers. Can grow without nutrients and without sufficient moisture.

Principles of growing, care and reproduction of cosmos

Kosmeya is an annual flower. It can be grown in two ways: seedlings and seeds. The latter can be sown directly into the ground from mid-spring (late April-early May), when there will definitely be no frost. You can consider the option with seedlings, but this is an ineffective and irrational method. In order not to clutter the windowsills with cups with young plants, it is better to sow the seeds directly into the open ground. Here they will quickly sprout and grow beautifully.

How to plant and grow cosmeia in the garden

When the seedlings become a little larger, they will need to be planted, taking into account the distance between them about 60 cm. In this way, you can decorate all the places on the site that need flower decoration, for example, a border planting.

The beauty of kosmeya flowers begins to show from July and continues to bloom until the very frost. During the period of growth, the flower very quickly grows green foliage of an openwork shape. It turns out a mini-shrub, which can be not just a garden decoration, but also a fence for something. For example, plant a similar plant near daffodils or tulipswhen these flowers fade and lose their beauty, the cosmeya will cover this ugliness with its foliage.

Due to the rapid growth of deciduous mass, the plant does not manage to bloom in all its glory. But there is a way how to deal with such density and help the plant to open up in flowering. It's just that from time to time, the cosme needs to be cut. It is recommended to leave only 30 cm of greenery, and remove the rest. The flower forms beautifully and blooms with full vigor after the trimming procedure, because the plant quickly develops flower buds.

Today, almost all flower shops have cosmeas for sale. There are different varieties: regular and terry. And the colors just scatter the eyes: red, burgundy, pink, purple, white, scarlet and many others.

The principles of growing, care and reproduction of cosmos

Kosmeya Rubens and Terry are distinguished by their special beauty. This is the result of modern breeding. Terry is endowed with large flowers - up to 10 cm in diameter. Growing produces large, massive shrubs with oily foliage. When purchasing such a hybrid, you need to understand that next year there will be no such beauty, because the flower is perfectly pollinated.

When sowing seeds of terry cosmos, its buds may differ both in color and in shape.

So it turns out that you don't have to work hard if you start a cosmeya on your site. A special place does not need to be selected, the soil may not be very fertile, poor. You shouldn't fertilize the plant, otherwise you won't cut the bush with an ax.

The only thing to do is water on time and cut regularly. And then, subject to all these simple rules, the kosmeya garden bush will adorn any garden.
