EM preparations contain microorganisms that are of great benefit to the soil; they can promote the decomposition of organic elements and convert them into other useful components. Also, microorganisms help the soil to become loose, so EM preparations are actively used to treat open areas.
Microorganisms are various beneficial bacteria, fungi, fermented milk elements, or yeast, they help speed up the decomposition of organic compounds, heal the site, and also protect plants from pests. Also, the EM-preparation can be used to create compost from waste, it is used to warm up the beds, performing watering. Such drugs can be purchased at specialty stores or made by yourself.
In order not to disrupt the exchange of bacteria in the soil, it is better to engage in the independent manufacture of preparations from bacteria that are adapted to this type of soil and climatic conditions.
Recipe 1. Top dressing-infusion with effective microorganisms
The EM preparation is used as a plant nutrition, and is made in the form of an infusion. First, mash is prepared, for this, 5 tablespoons of sugar and a pinch of yeast are diluted in three liters of warm water. Such a composition should ferment for about three days, then it is poured into a large container. The EM preparation is placed in the refrigerator until the moment of application, this is done so that the preparation does not sour.
Then, a shovel of wood or straw ash, half a bucket of manure is added to the same container, you can use bird droppings, fallen leaves or rotten straw, a shovel of compost or ordinary soil, the same amount of sand, a liter of yogurt, kefir or whey. The composition is left to infuse for about seven days, sometimes it is stirred.
During feeding, the composition is diluted with water in a ratio of 1 to 2, and added under each plant.
Recipe 2. Herbal infusion with effective microorganisms
Microorganisms can speed up the preparation of organic grass-based fertilizers. For the manufacture of such compositions, the third part of the barrel, with a volume of 250 liters, is filled with weed and medicinal herbs in crushed form, it can be tansy, plantain, chamomile or St. John's wort. Then half a bucket of ash is added to this container, and two composts are covered with water, and infused for about two weeks.
When feeding, the composition is diluted with water 1 to 10. About a liter of liquid is poured under each plant.
Recipe 3. EM-preparation for legumes
The EM preparation can be made specifically for legume plants. It is used to increase the yield on the site when such plants are grown globally. With the help of effective microorganisms, you can get a high-quality fertilizer that accelerates growth and increases yields. To prepare the composition, the following components are mixed: a kilogram of ordinary earth, a spoonful of lime and 250 grams of sand. The earth is moistened, placed in a bucket, and carefully leveled. Then they take the gum of peas or other beans, boil and cool, as a result, a nutritious composition is obtained.
Several tubers from flowering legume bushes are pushed out of the ground, crushed with a pusher, stirred with a nutrient composition, and poured onto the soil from above. Holes are made in the film, cover a container with earth with it, and leave it warm.
After seven days, the earth will become a good fertilizing agent for legume plants. When planting, seeds are enveloped in it, having previously moistened them. After that, they land on an open area.
You can also prepare a special starter culture with effective microorganisms, it is used to make compost or manure melt faster. To speed up this process, it is necessary to dilute half a pack of yeast in 250 grams of sweet water, then add the same amount of kefir or other lactic acid ingredient.
After complete cooking, a hole is made in the manure or compost, and liquid is poured into it. After two months, the manure becomes completely rotted, and only 14 days are enough for compost, then it can already be used for its intended purpose.
To accelerate the growth of eggplants, cucumbers and peppers, a container with manure is installed in the greenhouse, which is diluted with such a leaven, thanks to the release of carbon dioxide, the plants develop faster.
Recipe 5. Effective microorganisms for making homemade compost
Microorganisms are used in composting, for this you can use kombucha. It is infused with sweetened tea or herbal broth. Infusion of 10 milliliters is added to a liter of water, stirred, and the necessary waste is poured from which compost is made.
This infusion can be used to process seedlings or indoor plants. Kombucha has enough microorganisms that are useful not only for digestion, it is used as plant food.
Recipe 6. EO preparation in rice water
EM preparations can be made with rice water. To do this, you need to prepare sugar, rice, water and milk. 1/4 cup of rice is poured over one glass of water and stirred thoroughly to obtain a white liquid. After that, the liquid is poured into a small container, and in the future it will be used to make an EM preparation. This water is left warm and dark to infuse for up to seven days. After that, the liquid is filtered and added to milk, in a ratio of 1 to 10, and again infused for about seven days.
After this time, the curd elements are separated from the whey, they are removed from the surface, and a spoonful of sugar is placed in the liquid. After that, the product is considered cooked, it is stored cool for up to 12 months. In order for microorganisms to be activated, the concentrated agent is diluted in water 1 to 20. Such a agent, made independently, can be used to soak seed material or sprinkle potato tubers, and they can also process plants for preventive purposes. Processing can be performed not only for plants, but also for the premises in which vegetables, greenhouses or soil are stored.
Microorganisms can be used only in warm and cloudy weather, since beneficial bacteria can die in the active rays of the sun. At subzero temperatures, microorganisms stop their reproduction and growth, that is, they do not fully fulfill their function.
