How to properly grow scented tobacco

South America is considered the cradle of this interesting plant. The climate of the homeland is much hotter than ours, therefore, fragrant tobacco is classified as a thermophilic plant. In warm regions, tobacco can bloom for several seasons in a row, delighting the eye with its luxurious flowers. If the climate is colder, then such a plant lasts only one season. The main flowering period falls in June and lasts until September.

In order for the flowers of one-year-old fragrant tobacco to give pleasant moments and bloom actively, you need to know some rules for caring for this plant.

Landing in open ground. This event takes place in the spring, and in order not to destroy future flowers, already germinated seeds are planted in the open ground. A favorable month for growing such a flower can be called the end of February, the beginning of March. At this time, it is necessary to purchase a glass container and plant the varieties of scented tobacco you like. In order for the seed to hatch sooner, you need to cover this container with polyethylene or a tight lid.

Thus, over time, a greenhouse effect will be created in the bowl, which will have a positive effect on growth. Fragrant tobacco has very small seeds, therefore, a handful is thrown onto the surface, then sprayed with water from a spray bottle. It should take about two weeks before the first shoots appear. After that, each sprout is planted in separate cups. In order for the fragrant tobacco to grow in the form of a bush, the tops are plucked.

Humidity. Moisture is the most important thing for scented tobacco, especially if the summer is dry. In this case, the ornamental plant needs to be watered every day.

Fertilizers in optimal quantities tolerates well, however, you should not be zealous either - instead of flowers, leaves may develop well.

Lighting. The seedlings will bloom well where there is no place for a strong, gusty wind, and there is no open scorching sun.Full opening of the buds in the evening is considered the norm. Flowers are pleasing to the eye all summer, and flowering ends in September-October. Sometimes you can find withered and dried buds - the scented tobacco has faded. To continue enjoying the magnificent view, you need to cut off all dry buds. A brighter plant color can be achieved by planting them in a greenhouse for the winter. Only there it is necessary to maintain a stable temperature regime.

Reproduction. To multiply scented tobacco, you can not only wait for the seeds. There is another effective method. To do this, take the healthiest bush, dig it out of the ground in the fall. Place it in a flower pot and leave it at home. The height of the fragrant tobacco is cut by a third and watered. It is important to remember that scented tobacco loves light, therefore, the windowsill should be lit. When spring comes, the bush of fragrant tobacco is planted again in the heated soil.
